cloudy, with a chance.

ahhh

ahhh

I often tell myself that I enjoy taking photos on a cloudy day. The colors seemingly pop a bit more or at least in a way that I prefer; a more matte effect versus a blown out hue. It’s also very effective at conveying a mood that, among others, I am always trying to capture in a photograph. It is not “good” for light since there’s less of it. It is filtered which is the nice part. Some clouds are darker than others, and when enough gather together all the pops of color subside. It is just dark. Working in a “bright” darkness is a challenge but it is fun. There are still highlights to clip and shadows to disappear into, but colors and midtones shine. Constraints feel good when anything seems possible, delusions excluded.
